I Love Mexico is two things at once: an honest guide to the country, and the front door to a network of businesses we know, work with or run ourselves.
Where we come from
This site is written and maintained from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, by a small team that has spent years building websites for hotels, tour operators, restaurants, developers, clinics and agencies on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Over time that work became a network: dozens of businesses that know each other, refer to each other and, in many cases, share the same people behind the screen.
We kept being asked the same questions by visitors and by people moving here: where should I stay, who do I call to buy a condo, which boat captain is honest, where is the good bakery. The answers were always the same names. So we put them in one place.
What you will find here
- Twelve destinations, written as if a friend who lives in Mexico were telling you what matters before you book. Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit get the deepest coverage because that is where we live.
- A directory of 81 businesses in six categories: travel and tours, hotels and rentals, real estate, food, wellness and business services. Every link goes straight to the business's own website.
- A journal with practical notes: how to plan a trip using only local businesses, how a foreigner buys property in Mexico, how to see the country in three weeks.
How the directory works
There are no paid placements. A business is listed because we have worked with it, used it, or it belongs to someone in our circle. If it stops deserving the spot, we remove it. If you run a business in Mexico and think it belongs here, tell us about it; we visit, we look, and then we decide.
Two languages, on purpose
Everything on this site exists in English and Spanish, written separately rather than machine-translated, because our readers are both the people who visit Mexico and the people who live in it.
